Periscope Depth

Out of the frying pan and into the fire takes on new meaning for Jessica Henley as she runs from the Japanese invaders who took over the village school she was teaching at. Narrowly escaping the pursuing soldiers, the self-proclaimed "old maid" finds herself practically stowing away on an American Navy Submarine on a secret mission. Now trapped on board a submarine at the bottom of the ocean with a kind and gentle captain and a hundred homesick sailors, will she survive the battle in her heart, or will she succumb to the pressures of the deep?
Benjamin Codey finds himself unexpectedly in charge when the captain of his submarine dies suddenly. Taking on a dangerous mission with wounded men on board the Sentinel, can he keep a rein on his men and complete the mission when a surprise passenger shows up on his boat? Benjamin has al ways been focused on his Navy career, never caring about much else, but Jessica Henley and her feisty spirit is definitely a distraction. As the stakes rise and their Japanese pursuers inch ever closer, can Benjamin keep everyone safe, complete his mission and win the girl? Or will they all just become another casualty of war?
